Kissing your sister. A Mexican standoff. A Deventer stalemate. All ways to describe ties, and all ways to desribe the outcome of MFC Judge's Wednesday afrernoon match against Dynamite Kyiv. Back in front of the home crowd after a successful trip to Cameroon, MFC Judge looked to get revenge against a squad they'd tied back on the road back on November 28th. Unfortunately though, this matchup would end in the same result - a 1-1 draw.
The match started off fast, with midfielder Tunde Sanusi coming close to a goal in the match's opening minute. Not to be outdone, fellow midfielder Guy Sanderson just missed opening the scoring in the 7th minute. Despite MFC Judge having the better of the chances in the first part of the match, it was ultimately the vistors who scored first. In the 37th minute Yasuo Nakao took a pass from Karl Savage and hammered it into the back of the next to make it 1-0. That margin is how the first half would end.
During the halftime break manager Pieter van der Linden snapped, gave the squad the hairdryer treatment, and uttered words that are not fit to be repeated here. The tongue-lashing had the desired effect though, at least in part. Just after the restart, in the 51st minute, Isidro Sarmiento took a pass from Santos Urbina, hit a curling shot that would have made Mr. Posh Spice himself jealous, and tied the match at a goal a piece. Each side would have chances in the match's final portion, but each side would also fail to convert.
The draw and the point that comes with it keeps MFC Judge atop the table, three points ahead of second-place Bären von Berlin MFC. The club is next in action on Friday afternoon against Brussels MFC - a club that currently sits 7th in the table.
