First IMFF Cup Defeat as MFC Judge Falls 1-0

In a tightly-contested Thursday afternoon clash, MFC Judge fell to Los Angeles METASQUAD 1-0, with the bad-guys' only goal coming in the 65th minute from Jesper Rosenberg.

For the first half though, it was a tightly contested affair - played mostly in the middle of the pitch.  Neither side seriously threatened the other and neither side managed a single shot on goal.  The possession percentage was nearly even as well, further showing just how closely matched up the sides were.

Despite Los Angeles being the only side to ultimately score, the sides were tightly matched up in that frame as well.  Elmar Jacobs came close for MFC Judge just after the break, but his shot sailed just wide of the mark.  His teammates would muster only two shots on goal the rest of the way, with only one of them being on target.  MFC Judge's three total shots, with one on target, was exactly the same as Los Angeles, however.  Like the first half, overall possession was almost exactly even - with MFC Judge ending the match with an ever-s0-slight 51%-49% advantage.

"Perhaps on anotehr day we come out on top" Elmar Jacobs said after the match.  "I don't know.  Today was one of those weird days where it seems like you're playing a mirror image of yourself.  Everything we did, they matched.  Everything they did, we did - other than scoring a goal, that is.  I guess at the end of the day we can hold our heads high knowing that we get to go back to Deventer and they have to return to Los Angeles.  That's a win any day of the week."

The loss unfortunately drops MFC Judge a spot in the group-stage standings, from 2nd to third.  With two matches still to go, however, and with the top as tight as it is, it is still anyone's guess who ultimately escapes and makes it to the knockout rounds.
