"It wasn't an opportunity we were expecting, but it wasn't one that we could pass up." Those were the words of MFC Judge manager Pieter van der Linden on Monday morning when MFC Judge unveiled noted Brazilian defender Vanderlei Felix as its newest addition. "He is the exact type of defender we want - fast, good with the ball at his feet, and powerful. We are grateful to add him to the club before our first-ever Bronze League season."
Pundits are speculating that Felixwill pair nicely with established MFC Judge defender Øystein Ødegaard. Both are quick, well-rounded players whose strengths compliment each other. While both are comfortable with the ball, Ødegaard's strength is in his passing while Felix's strength is in his dribbling..
The club's newest addition had this to say about his move:
"To the fans in Deventer I say - watch out. I will bring the flair - both on and off the pitch. You will fall in love with me, both as a defender and as a purveyor of beautiful locks. You thought Beckham's hair was nice? He has nothing on me."
To make room for Felix on roster, the clup parted ways with Costa Rican defender Isidro Millon. While he too has amazing hair, it was no match for Felix's - so a move had to be made.
