Just a few days after the transfer window opened and MFC Judge has already been involved in five moves - three departures and two arrivals. In a normal world this might seem excessive - sort of like Fat Albert's plate at an all-you-can-eat buffet, In the topsy-turvy world that is the MFL, however, it is to be expected.
"We're in what I like to refer to as the "crazy" period of the MFL," Assistant Kwame Asante said. "It's sort of like at the beginning of a season of Love Island - people might have come in attached, but within a few days everyone is moving around and finding new homes.."
Three players who, all of whom were with MFC Judge since the beginning, have left the club. The departures are as follows:
- Bernt Edman:. The quick winger played sparingly for MFC Judge this past season and has been loaned to Stone Division side Liverpool Meta SC to continue his development. Supporters can be confident that Edman is in good hands to continue his development, as his new home is owned by MCP Sports Agency, the same group that produced club stalwart Elmar Jacobs.
- Alan Lockwood: The midfielder became a fan-favorite in the preseason, but was unable to break through MFC Judge's midfield logjam. Currently without a club, MFC Judge wishes Lockwood the best.
- Patryk Rutkowski: The Polish striker was always expected to be a depth piece, but was only able to make it on the pitch for a single match. Wanting more playing time, the club granted his wish and allowed him an opportunity to feature elsewhere.
Assistant (and transfer guru) Kwame Asante had this to say about the departing players:
"All three of the boys who've left us were great. We wish they could have stayed. But they deserve to play more. That wasn't going to be possible here, so we decided to let them go so they could chase their dreams elsewhere. Once a member of MFC Judge, always a member of MFC Judge. If the stars aligned we'd certainly welcome them back."
With those three departures, MFC Judge also welcomed a few new faces to the fold - both of whom are expected to contribute heavily to MFC Judge's attack next season - midfielders Valentin Collet and Stevan Vujčić. Both will be available for the upcoming Boxing Day Clashes and Holiday Heroes competitions, so fans will soon get an opportunity to get to know both of the club's new additions on the pitch. However, both players fit square into the vision Manager Pieter van der Linden (who was unavailable due to a hospital stay caused by excessive drinking at the club's championship celebration) has outlined for the club - continued evolution, continued pressing forward, always seeking new heights and further glory.
