A week without matches might mean a week of rest for some clubs, but not for the robots running MFC Judge. Instead, this past week saw the first of several changes - as the club ditched its inagural crest, unveiled a new one, and took the first step in what is set to be a transformative year.
"I loved the old crest" DG Gavelers' President Bailiff von Bailiff said, when asked about the new design. "But this one brings it all together much better. As soon as this meeting is over, I plan on going and getting it tattoo'd on my keister. And other places. But definitely there."
Not only did the fans love the re-design, but so did the players. Striker Isidro Sarmiento had this to say about the new crest:
"Everyone knows I love beatiful things. My history with women shows that. So of course I would love the new crest, with its smiling koek-man in the center."
With the new crest's unveiling, the club also released an explainer giving the background on its three key elements.
1) The Staff: In a prominent position to the left-side of the crest is a large staff, firmly gripped by a smiling koek-man. The staff is an emblem of the power a judge wields. Ready to dispense punishment, grant mercy or destroy dreams at a moment's notice, the staff encapsulates the collective power the club's players have when they come together as one.
2) The Similing Koek-Man: The koek-man is a blending of Deventer's world-famous koek and the gingerbread man. Known for his appearances is classic movies like "Shrek," "Shrek 2," "Shrek the Third," and the rest of the more-minor entries in the shrek cinematic universe, the gingerbread man has brought joy to people of all ages, all over the world, for generations. His smile is symbolizes the joy MFC Judge aims to bring its fans every time it takes the pitch.
3) The Club's Name: Named after the mythical figure - no longer present - who created a tight-knit online community, the "Judge" in MFC Judge brings back strong memories for those who were there during its heyday. Evoking equal parts fear, joy and reverence, the club's name is embedded on the hearts of fans across the metaverse.
